The Colours of Spring

Spring has arrived. Dust off the winter blues with these fresh colour accents from our lighting and furniture collection:

Jelly, by Stone Designs

Transparent hand blown glass shades that seem to quiver in the light, colourful Jelly is a treat for the eyes. With four colours across two sizes, the collection truly comes alive when mixed and matched together.

Matrioshka, by Stone Designs

Matrioshka is Russian nesting dolls re-imagined in domes of pigmented, hand blown glass around an E27 light source. As both artificial and natural light pass through the glass, colours converge to form new ones, resulting in a living light that subtly changes with its surroundings.

Snowdrop, by Stone Designs

A soft glow playfully peeks through candy-coloured veils. Each Snowdrop, inspired by flowers of the same name, drifts effortlessly in mid-air, delivering charm and character to any room.

Asteroid (Petrol Glass), Koray Ozgen

Asteroid is a unique geometrical form in which no two of its twenty-four individual faces are identical and no two edge lengths equal. In clusters, this creates the illusion of many different shapes, when there is only one.

Poke Stool, by Kyuhyung Cho

Poke is not just another wooden stool — A series of strategically placed holes not only allow them to stack and nest together for easy storage, but also grant them seemingly endless stacking possibilities. Poke is a stool for adults with a spirit of child-like play!

Not a fan of colour? Not a problem. Have a look at the full collection here and carve out your own definition of spring!

About the designers: Freshwest

innermost x Deborah Bowness

We are proud to team up with English artist and designer, Deborah Bowness, to transform her unique luxury wallpaper collection into an exclusive line of lampshades.

Standing between art and function, Bowness’ designs break away from traditional wallpaper patterns and colours into trompe l’oeil images that appear to interact with the objects in the three-dimensional space; beautifully complementing existing designs within our quirky collection.

Bowness’ designs for innermost begin life as photographs, carefully joined together in montage. Digitally added silk-screened details are carefully positioned to enhance parts of the artwork. Our team of specialist printers in England then digitally print each design life-sized onto drops of wallpaper. Finally, the wallpapers are delivered to our factory in Telford, where they are transformed into lampshades using familiar lampshade making techniques that we were founded upon.

Introducing Stupa in White

We first launched Stupa at Euroluce earlier this year. Now we are ready to introduce a new colour – white – into this ambient range of pendant lights.

Cast from resin, the individual pieces that make up Stupa are joined and hand finished individually on a lathe, then polished with beeswax. This combination of a mass production process with a high value hand skilled element makes for wonderful and interesting lighting; in this instance, the result is a lamp that permeates an ambient glowing warmth while still providing a practical light level.

Designed by Freshwest, the form was inspired by temple architecture in Asia, particularly the stupas of Myanmar.

Both Stupa white and yellow will be exhibiting at Maison et Objet in Paris in the coming January, alongside our latest lighting and furniture collections! Look out for us on Hall 7 Stand B6.

WATCH THIS: Dancing with Latitude

Take a look at Australian designer Flynn Talbot‘s award-winning pendant lamp – Latitude.

Talbot puts the average spotlight back in the spotlight as he transforms it into a centrepiece rather than mere support lighting. A clever suspension cable allows the light to be pointed in any direction, creating a flexible light that activates the surrounding space. Hang it any way you want with Latitude!
